In 1919 Henry Wilber began conducting farm and household auctions in the Bronson Michigan area. Soon he added livestock auctions to his busy schedule. Upon returning from the south pacific after World War II, Henry’s son Garth started the White Star Auction. Before long, Garth also sold at multiple livestock auctions throughout the week in addition to the weekly auction at the White Star on Saturday. Eventually Garth ventured into industrial auctions across the country, and his son Brent took over ownership of the White Star. In 1974 Brent and his wife Ginny conducted the first consignment snowmobile auction. The snowmobile auction grew into the world’s largest public motorsports auction. In 2023 Brent and Ginny retired and their son Scott started conducting auctions at the White Star.
